Skills
Our planning is holistic, integral and sustainable, always structured, and carried out with the help of state-of-the-art equipment. We think outside the box and bring added value to our clients through networked ways of thinking.
We will be on site when your project is being built – in centre field instead of on the sideline! We will strike the right balance between quality, cost effectiveness, and common sense.
Expertise
Rail
5196 kilometres of rail
Switzerland has one of the densest railway networks in the world. Imposing civil engineering and state-of-the-art technology form our country’s network. Up to 1.3 million passengers use the Swiss rail network every day. In order to make this logistical masterpiece possible, invisible technology is used in the background and often to the benefit of commuters. For railway infrastructure, we plan layouts and systems for energy supply, communication, automation, and monitoring.
Railway tunnels and underground construction
Designing a railway tunnel requires an overall understanding of all railway installations and systems. The operational, maintenance, and rescue concepts must be included in the specialist planning at an early stage. We are familiar with the special environmental conditions and requirements for technical systems in railway tunnels, taking into account both national and international standards and regulations. For our employees, activities in underground construction are routine, and we are equipped accordingly.
Stations and stops
We accompany the specialist planning of technical systems from preliminary studies all the way to the start of service. We are familiar with all the requirements for platform equipment—especially lighting systems including measurement for inspection and approval. Construction phase and interval planning are included in our overall concept, as is cable planning. Our specialist construction managers accompany the work on site and have the appropriate safety training to move independently in track areas.
Signal boxes and cabins
From energy supply with medium voltage or low voltage to gathering of data points for fault-signal transmission: we design technical systems that are necessary for the operation of signal boxes, with or without interlocking. Together with EPRO GROUP, we can also take over the specialist planning of HVAC systems. Planning integral tests and switching concepts for commissioning are our further skills in this area.
Switching stations and substations
We support and accompany operators in the specialist service coordination of such infrastructures. We know the interfaces that are created and know how to set the course so that they can be put into service in an orderly fashion. We also do specialist planning for self-consumption supplies. We are familiar with technical power supplies such as 110VDC or 48VDC, from generation to distribution. Another core skill: transferring return and grounding concepts into the detailed planning.
Open tracks
Railway network consist primarily of open lines. In this area we support operators in project planning. You can benefit from our experience in electrical point heating, power supplies for radio systems or cable planning. Close cooperation with specialist services and third parties is a matter of course for us. Our goal: to use synergies sensibly and to minimise restrictions on rail operations.
Special engineering structures
Bridges, underpasses, operations centers, control centers, pumping stations… We are happy to develop the appropriate specialist planning for all of these.
Roads
83,274 kilometres of roads
National roads and state roads cross our country. Barely visible are the countless different technical systems that enable the optimal flow of cars. In tunnels, for example, drivers’ safety is the top priority. We plan layout and systems in the field of operating and safety equipment for all types of road infrastructures.

Communication
Flawless transmission in real time
Images and language are essential in the field of transport infrastructure. Geographically widely distributed systems (signals, end devices, etc.) are increasingly functioning autonomously. This requires stable data communication with high real-time behavior and fast response times.

Integral tests, overall function tests, rescue exercises
Take responsibility, ensure safety!
Planning, organising, carrying out, evaluation
Participation in these tests at the completion of projects such as tunnels and safety adits.
Complex traffic infrastructure systems and objects with high requirements for availability require an integral review of their overall function after completion, as well as during ongoing operation. The constantly growing networking, digitization and automation offer great advantages, but also lead to more interfaces and dependencies. Blackout scenarios are more relevant than ever. Furthermore, technical systems must also function properly in the event of an adverse event.
